George Stephens developed a plan for a streetcar suburb on his father-in-law’s (John Spring Myers) farm in 1905. The neighborhood was designed by the Harvard-trained landscape architect, John Nolen, and work was underway by 1911.
Myers Park is distinguished for its winding tree-lined streets, large historic homes and architectural variety. Due to its landscaped beauty, it is one of the most-visited parts of Charlotte.
For those short on time, a simple drive through the neighborhood is worthwhile in order to view the large, historic mansions along the main streets.
This home offers true, timeless, MP charm with all the modern conveniences due to a complete renovation and addition by Dubose Custom in 2018. New double paned windows were added throughout, two new HVAC systems, and new electrical and plumbing started the renovation. A beautiful kitchen, scullery, great room, and master suite were added downstairs with great attention to detail in custom cabinets and millwork. Upstairs, a bedroom/bonus was added plus a bathroom and office area. The other two baths upstairs were totally renovated. All hardwoods are new, along with insulation, and a sealed crawl space. Outside a new covered patio was added with a gas fire pit. A one car carport with a storage area was added along with irrigation in both the front and backyards. Don't miss this move in ready opportunity in the heart of Myers Park.
